Hyperliquid runs an on-chain referral programme: an existing user shares a code, a new user applies it, and the new account receives a discount on eligible trading fees. The referrer earns a share of the referred account's fees. It costs the new user nothing — the discount comes out of the exchange's fee take, not on top of it.
How does the Hyperliquid referral discount work?
When you open Hyperliquid through a referral link (or enter a code manually before trading), the code is bound to your account. From then on, eligible trades are charged at a reduced rate until any programme limit is reached. The discount applies automatically — there is nothing to claim per trade.

Which referral-code mistakes should you avoid?

Can I add a referral code after I have already traded?
No. Hyperliquid referral codes can only be applied to accounts that have not yet traded. If you have an active account, the code option will no longer be available for it.
